    Planning and scheduling

Do you like when life is somewhat chaotic or do you rather prefer planning and scheduling? As for me, I stay on the planning side of the fence most of the time, I like when things work as I expect. Planning helps me to get organised, to meet deadlines, to capture my ideas, and it motivates my creativity. It focuses my thoughts and activities in the right direction. I like to visualise the planning to see at a glance the condition of my plans so from time to time I create various tables to get there. To inspire you, I’d like to show you one of the tables today, a simple…

    Inspiring woman

Have you ever heard about the writer Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach? I hadn’t until I visited the Archbishop chateau in Kroměříž last summer and saw a little unusual exhibition presented in the chateau’s tower on the 100th anniversary of her death. Her words flying in the air captured my attention… Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach was a writer of Moravian origin writing in German language. She is considered to be one of the most important women writers of the 19th century who wrote in German. She was born in September 13, 1830 in Zdislavice, not far from Kroměříž, to the noble family of Count Dubský and his wife. When she married, she and…

    Bonsai exhibition

At the end of May my family and I visited an exhibition of bonsai in Merklín. Merklín is just a small town with about a thousand inhabitants but it started tradition of bonsai exhibitions in 2004 and still keeps it alive. Every year it invites fans of bonsai and Japanese culture generally to the local castle in the yard of which the exhibition takes place. This was the third time of our visiting and as I am no expert in this field, I could see just “the same” beautiful and interesting plants I had seen before yet I enjoyed the atmosphere of the event. In front of the castle, there…

    Merry Christmas

As I invested many hours within last several months in moving and merging my blogs here, I skipped writing many intended posts and shooting many intended photos, but finally all is ready here to be continued. I’m looking forward to my next blogging and photography adventures and I hope that they will be enriching not just for me but also for you who come to visit my blog. I still have quite a few photos to be shared, a few reflections to be pondered over and I plan another photo project for next year to further develop and enhance my photography skills, I will tell you more about it in…

    Colouring fantasy

Today I’ve finished colouring another pattern. When my kids saw it, they were looking at me as if I was from another planet. Too bright, too colourful, mom, you’ve definitely got overboard with this… Well, you can have the same impression but I will be brave enough to say I don’t care. I love that brightness, I love those colours, and I love the combinations. This is exactly what I love about colouring. I follow my instincts, make my choices and can go as crazy as I like and dare. My older sister used to colour images as an adult too, until she bought a laptop and started playing facebook…

    Bullet journaling adventure

Have you ever heard of bullet journaling? It’s a way of keeping your events and tasks organized and much more than that and a few weeks ago it burst quite surprisingly into my life. I disliked planners and diaries of all kinds. Always, when I bought one, I was carrying it for a few weeks in my bag, rarely opening it, and sooner or later it got lost in a drawer. They all seemed so rigid and unhelpful to me. I’ve been quite happy with my smartphone recently, it has all I need when it comes to scheduling events and jotting down important tasks. But then, a few weeks ago,…

    PF 2016

Here we are again, at the end of another year. Nobody knows what the next year holds for them and how they’ll be able to embrace that. It’s time to wish one another strength, health and happiness and it’s high time to send New Year cards to our friends, families and business partners. Someone celebrates the last day of the year as a milestone, others refuse to see anything special in it, but the truth is that the date changes and we need to get used to that new number… I’ve posted New Year cards in this blog since 2011 and just a few weeks ago I was made aware…

    Back up your data

Do you make a backup of any work you do on your computer?Do you back up your data in such a way that you can’t easily lose them?Or do you just postpone and avoid that thinking it can wait until you have time for it? Back up, Back Up, BACK UP! Undoubtedly you’ve heard that priceless piece of advice many times and I would love to know how seriously you take it. I heard several stories of people I knew who were let down by their computer and lost all their data because they made no backup. No at all. And a while ago my colleague told me that she…

    Along the path of blogging

UPDATE: I wrote this post on my Blogger blog before coming to this WordPress website a year later so its contents are not relevant to what I have now. Yet I decided to keep the post here as it shows the history of my blogging and where it took me. I started my first blog about fifteen years ago on the Yahoo platform for the sole purpose of learning English and keeping in touch with my online teacher. Slowly but continuously the blog was getting a new face and finally I was sharing photos I took and thoughts I was pondering over. Then Yahoo came with the announcement that it would…

    PF 2015

2014 is over and when I look back at it, I can see so many things that challenged me, enriched me and pushed me forward. We may be a year older but also we are a year more experienced and that counts. I became strongly aware of the fact that circumstances of our lives are never ideal but offer us many chances to grow personally and follow our dreams. And learn or develop something we should have done years ago but perhaps needed to grow up to it. I didn’t share many posts on this blog in 2014 but I’m pleased to say that I successfully finished my 52-week photography…
