My photo project for 2025

For 2024 I decided to get back to still life photography and now at the end of the year I am quite disappointed by what effort I made or rather didn’t make. Just a few posts with just a few shooting sessions, not much time and effort devoted.

When starting that project, I decided not to limit myself by planning any topics or assignments. I thought it would be easier then, but I am afraid the contrary was true. The free arrangement did not motivate me enough. I always struggle to come up with interesting ideas for photos, I find it difficult to start, and it supported postponing and avoiding the project’s fulfilling.

– a gift I found under our Christmas tree from my husband,
I love all the parts and how he put them together –

I wish to do better so I decided to plan another still life photo project for the next year but this time with the help of thought-over monthly topics. To make it easier and more interesting, I asked AI – Claude and GPT – to give me some prompts for each month on the condition that I want to take the photos at home using available objects.

It was not as easy as just asking and getting immediate pleasing answers, it took me some time to refine the request itself to get what I was looking for. Quite a new experience for sure. But then I refined the selected prompts to create a plan with monthly assignments I would like to complete and here it is:

January – “Winter Warmth”
February – “Shapes and Shadows”
March – “Kitchen Stories”
April – “Tools of the Trade”
May – “Windows and Reflections”
June – “Everyday Geometry”
July – “Seasonal Fruits and Refreshments”
August – “Music and Sound”
September – “Artist’s Desktop”
October – “Objects in Motion”
November – “Monochrome Stories”
December – “Festive Cheer”

You can find the assignments elaborated in a little bit more detail on the main page for the project.

I know I need some pressure to push me when I want to achieve something particular so here it is. Hope it brings some inspiration to you as well.
