Pink inspired (again)

Here and there I buy a small bunch of flowers to decorate my kitchen for a few days and the other day I chose pink roses. They looked fresh and fragile and I loved them but just after two days their stems bent down and the flowers were fading almost in front of my eyes.

Of course I felt disappointed but I grabbed them, grabbed my camera and spent an hour or two playing with them in my photographs. The disappointment transformed into creativity, what an unexpected development. Here is the result of that pink inspiration…

We have a saying: “If life hands you a lemon, make lemonade.” That’s what I thought of when I saw the beautiful images you made of the prematurely wilting flowers.

  2. Once again it’s the first image that grabs me. LOVE the combination of the old leather (?) piece with the softness of the roses. I adore spent flowers. To me that are just as beautiful and in some cases more beautiful than the “fresh and fragile.” What a great comparison to aging! Great work!

    1. Thank you, Robin, for your appreciative words. It’s leather, as far as I know, and it’s full of little holes and burns as it serves as a welding apron. It both contrasted with and complemented the flowers, I loved that combination. I agree with you, spent flowers are beautiful in their own way…
