White, round and minimalist

Week 3 of Be still 52 invited us to gather various table tops and back drops to have interesting and suitable foregrounds and backgrounds for our photos. After rummaging in our house I’m perfectly sure there is not much to use, I need to buy a few things to start with. For the time being I decided to follow a challenge offered by Kim to those being already stocked with tops, textiles and backgrounds, which was to use any or all 3 of the following prompts:

WHITE – ROUND – MINIMALIST

You know me, I wanted all… and created the following image:

abstract-black&white

It’s not a typical still life, rather an abstract detail, but the vase being still, it still might fall into the “be still” category.

  1. Nice work. Great to see the viewpoint just off centre creating an edge and depth just to the right and a shadow inside towards the top. Was this originally coloured ? … if so … great job.

    1. J, thank you, I’m pleased you like the image. To decide where the focus should be was quite an important part of the final result. The vase is originally beige and I used it for its shape and structure visualising a b&w version…
