    1. Gail, thank you. The tree attracted my attention and I’m pleased you like it. It IS so interesting… The golden hue adds balance to the original photo and creates the atmosphere, I like how it changed the reality and made it more real at the same time.

    1. Rune, thank you, great to hear about that happy feeling. 🙂

I meant moody in the sense of creating a certain mood or feeling though after reading all the definitions I could find now, the word is probably used more for expressing sad rather than pleasant emotions…

    1. Linda, thank you. I really liked the tree and the light and when I edited the capture later, I achieved this look by experimenting a bit with the adjustments. It was nice at the spot and it’s even nicer in this version.

  1. I struggled with this one at first Petra but the more I looked at it, the less I saw the gloomy sky and the more I saw the character in the tree. At first the two main tree subjects appeared blurred but then when I look at it more, they're not and they seem to come alive in the scene. Was the overall colour tones natural ?

    1. J, thank you for sharing your impressions. I understand that this might be a difficult photo for someone, I’m rather surprised it got so positive feedback here. What I tried to capture was “the character in the tree” as you named it aptly. I liked the shape which is not very common here and the scenery was lit by a nice evening sun. I adjusted the colour tones to enhance the atmosphere of the capture as the original photo looked somewhat mundane. I was playing a bit with presets I found in Lightroom, just to see what it could look like and I happened to combine a few of them which created this effect. It added the mood I felt at the place…
