Petra Pavlátková 2014-11-18 at 20:33 5 years ago Cheryl, thank you. These late autumnal afternoons have quite special light and when it is enhanced a bit when reflecting itself in something – whether it is a castle or a tree, it looks great. Gail Dixon 2014-11-18 at 05:17 5 years ago That large tree is so interesting. So much character. I also love the golden hues in this photo. Petra Pavlátková 2014-11-18 at 20:42 5 years ago Gail, thank you. The tree attracted my attention and I’m pleased you like it. It IS so interesting… The golden hue adds balance to the original photo and creates the atmosphere, I like how it changed the reality and made it more real at the same time. Well balanced. Petra Pavlátková 2014-11-20 at 21:38 5 years ago Rune, thank you, great to hear about that happy feeling. 🙂 I meant moody in the sense of creating a certain mood or feeling though after reading all the definitions I could find now, the word is probably used more for expressing sad rather than pleasant emotions… Donna 2014-11-22 at 02:56 5 years ago Oh I really do like this with the golden light Petra Pavlátková 2014-11-22 at 12:08 5 years ago Donna, thank you, I’m pleased you like it. Linda at To Behold The Beauty 2014-11-28 at 03:38 4 years ago Your timing for this shot was perfect! The lighting couldn't have been better. The golden hues really set off the tree and the nearby bushes. Love it! Petra Pavlátková 2014-11-30 at 17:07 4 years ago Linda, thank you. I really liked the tree and the light and when I edited the capture later, I achieved this look by experimenting a bit with the adjustments. It was nice at the spot and it’s even nicer in this version. J_on_tour 2014-12-27 at 01:07 4 years ago I struggled with this one at first Petra but the more I looked at it, the less I saw the gloomy sky and the more I saw the character in the tree. At first the two main tree subjects appeared blurred but then when I look at it more, they're not and they seem to come alive in the scene. Was the overall colour tones natural ? Petra Pavlátková 2014-12-27 at 20:35 4 years ago J, thank you for sharing your impressions. I understand that this might be a difficult photo for someone, I’m rather surprised it got so positive feedback here. What I tried to capture was “the character in the tree” as you named it aptly. I liked the shape which is not very common here and the scenery was lit by a nice evening sun. I adjusted the colour tones to enhance the atmosphere of the capture as the original photo looked somewhat mundane. I was playing a bit with presets I found in Lightroom, just to see what it could look like and I happened to combine a few of them which created this effect. It added the mood I felt at the place… Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
