  1. Red is a difficult colour to get right, but this looks just right. Nice lined and squares. I would have been tempted to try a mirror image, but for obvious reasons that won't work. Maybe a touch more clarity to get enhance the structure in the woodwork. Well done!

    1. Rune, thank you, I’m pleased you like the image. I get what you mean about the clarity but I might have needed to shoot that photo under different lighting conditions to get the structure of the wood more prominent. There is quite a problem with the almost-always-shining mailbox and the significantly darker red door, moreover the red is a difficult colour indeed. I’d say I got the best from what I had captured.

  2. Working from the top left hand corner, the composition is near perfect. Great to get the number, handle and a portion of the lower door as well. For me, it would have worked just as well without the letter box, but the contrast gives you a title.
I wondered about showing another very small section at the base but that would have compromised the format and to me the composition you have given on the right hand side of the photo is more important than the base. Great work.

    1. J, thank you, I’m pleased you like the image. The letter box could be more stylish to match the door better but sometimes one can’t choose… Have you noticed the name on the nameplate? 🙂 All pieces together felt great.

When I was cropping the photo to get what I wanted I also had a version showing more from the bottom panelling but as its shape is different from the upper part, it is full and convex, the larger remaining part didn’t look very well.
