52-week photoproject – Week 7

Canon EOS 500D, 70-300 mm, 1/80 at f/18, -0,33 EV, 70 mm, ISO 200

  1. Lovely mix of colours even down to the background field. The thing that is most striking to me is the foreground & sides framing the picture. Add to that the background row of trees & the solitary one is surrounded. It's a shame that the tree has been allowed to grow so tall 🙂 After thinking about it a bit more, the surface of the water has done you a great favour because the vivid reflections, although good, would have detracted from the main subject. I don't think you could have done a lot more with the size of the lens and the associated camera settings that you used.

    1. J, thank you for sharing your opinion. The photo with its colours and framing gave me the impression of an atmospheric place. You’re right, the tree could have been smaller but there was nothing to be done about that. Actually, I did not realise this detail in the place itself which might be a lesson taught by this shooting.

The surface of the water looked interesting. As you say, if it was all clear, it would override the island. On the other hand if there wasn’t that clear patch, it might have been a bit boring.
