The composition – excellent! Petra Pavlátková 2014-02-16 at 20:08 5 years ago Robin, thank you. It’s such an inspiring place and though I’ve seen this island many times, I’m always surprised to see how differently it presents itself on each of those occasions. Linda at To Behold The Beauty 2014-02-16 at 21:24 5 years ago It's beautiful, Petra. I love the wintry browns, the muted reflections in the ice, and the clearer reflections in the little strip of open water. I think you've framed the image perfectly. Petra Pavlátková 2014-02-16 at 21:51 5 years ago Linda, thank you. The funny part is that the place caught my attention when I came there to took another photo. I took them both and this one has won. J_on_tour 2014-02-17 at 20:09 5 years ago Lovely mix of colours even down to the background field. The thing that is most striking to me is the foreground & sides framing the picture. Add to that the background row of trees & the solitary one is surrounded. It's a shame that the tree has been allowed to grow so tall 🙂 After thinking about it a bit more, the surface of the water has done you a great favour because the vivid reflections, although good, would have detracted from the main subject. I don't think you could have done a lot more with the size of the lens and the associated camera settings that you used. Petra Pavlátková 2014-02-17 at 22:43 5 years ago J, thank you for sharing your opinion. The photo with its colours and framing gave me the impression of an atmospheric place. You’re right, the tree could have been smaller but there was nothing to be done about that. Actually, I did not realise this detail in the place itself which might be a lesson taught by this shooting. The surface of the water looked interesting. As you say, if it was all clear, it would override the island. On the other hand if there wasn’t that clear patch, it might have been a bit boring. Gail Dixon 2014-02-25 at 15:33 5 years ago What a beautiful, peaceful setting! That mirrored part of the water looks as though the tree just slid over there by itself. Remarkable image, in my opinion! Petra Pavlátková 2014-02-25 at 22:31 5 years ago Gail, thank you. I’m pleased you like the photo. Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
